Served as Counsellor in Kabul, March 2003.
Back in Rome worked at the Directorate General for Multilateral Political Affairs and Human Rights.
Sent on a mission to Afghanistan from July 30, 2005 to May 1, 2006 as Political Advisor to the Commander of the international mission ISAF (International Security Assistance Force).

Takes charge of the Office IV as Head of Office, Directorate General for European Integration, March 8, 2010.
